Been going since 2004 for 13 years. best campground ever.

i want to start by saying the owners are very very very nice. I have traveled around the world, 10 different countries, hiking, and camping in every single one. I am not a fair weather tourist, i can spend weeks in the forest. Now back to the Taylor Island Family Campground, the entire property is like a rundown gypsy camp. probably 100 rundown, caravans, campers, and mobile homes in various states of complete disrepair. we (my girlfriend and i) arrived in the dark and had "reserved" their "best tent site"...... it was in a small patch of trees behind and between burned out trailers and mobile homes, we were told that we could use the woods to go to the bathroom if we didn't want to walk to the building. there was so much trash strewn around, we had to clear that before we could even think about making camp, jagged sheet metal, old tires, rims, garbage, old clothes, burned out mattresses..... leave no trace.... right?! within 15' of the spot we ended up camping was two burned out mobile homes, and a dilapidated table from a 1980's Howard Johnsons. We walked to the water for some time away from our "site". walking along the road to to point was large (12' x 8') pieces of walls and parts of burned out mobile homes. Also along the little road were boulders of broken concrete and rebar, obviously for a seawall, but looked awful, and dangerous for any child unlucky enough to have had their parents bring them to this Taylor Island nightmare. One good thing about our stay, we now have a new bar that is set so low, making it out alive and without needing a tetanus shot is worthy of 1 star. (attached are pictures i took within the 50' "camping radius" that is it, no actual sites, just a patch of woods where burned out trailers get dragged.)

Came here to go tent camping with my family but immediately left without a refund. It's more of a trailer park with a wooded area in the back with broken picnic tables, no fire ring or designated camping spots. We will never come back to this place.

I prefer to remember it, as it was. Been coming here before the trailers and camping vehicles. When there was nothing more than the remains of an old concrete building. No one around but my 2 cousins, my mom & my aunt. Now, those were the days...with unlimited beach access.

Best Campground on the Eastern Shore. This is where my real home is! Great owners great neighbors! Very accommodating to your every concerns. You want to be with Family this is the place to be. Everyone here IS family. I cannot express how much I'm welcomed back home to Taylors Island Campground. Kudos to Bruce and June. Thank you for always opening your hearts whenever we are able to come back home.
